If you are going to force us to do retarded dailies like Shoot ‘Em Up, FIX THE GODDAMN HARPOONS, FFS!

I don’t mind dailies per se, but some of them are really tedious and retarded. Like the aforementioned daily. So if we have to do tedious and retarded quests, at least fix the damn things. The harpoons only turn about 10% to the left, can’t turn right at all, so you spend a half a friggin hour waiting for something to wander into your sights and pray that you can fire enough harpoons fast enough to kill them. They take about 5 hits each, too.
There are so many bloody bugs in some of these quests, it’s disgusting. I gave up on the one in Icecrown where you have to shoot while in the “infra-green”. Ready to ship, amirite…
Am I the only one who, when they find something bugged, posts it on the official Bug Report forums and goes about doing something else?
SO not worth getting worked up over, IMO. We all know Activision/Vivendi forced it out early to compete with WAR, so getting frustrated is an exercise in uselessness. There’s plenty to do, lol.
Easy to say not to get worked up over it but not so easy to do when those dailies are required for rep grinds. And the rep is required for stuff like enchants, particularly for end-gamer raiders.
I didn’t mean it as an insult, Rilgon. I’m sorry if it came out that way. All I mean is that some of these things are really required for raiders, as opposed to non-raiders or more casual raiders. We’re pretty hardcore. Not only have we completed Naxx25, but tonight we completed Naxx10 in just a few hours, then went on to work on Malygos (which we started as a 25man group last night). The vast majority of us hit 80 within a week and the stragglers are behind only due to work/school, etc. Most of us are leveling up alts now. Today, I finished the achievements for both Northrend Dungeonmaster and Northrend Dungeonhero (or whatever they are called – I’ve done every instance in Northrend on heroic at least once), and have completed quite a few of the instance/heroic achievements, as well. My point with all of this is we push ourselves hard and are pretty hardcore.
So for us, we NEED some of the stuff that is only available through factions like gear (much of which is better than Sunwell gear), enchants, gem designs, leatherworking designs, etc. And for many of them, grinding dailies is the only way to get the rep. We expect everyone to have the best enchants, gems, etc., available for whatever gear they are wearing, including Northrend blues that will be replaced sometimes in a matter of hours. For some, they can be championed by wearing the tabards in heroics, but since most of us need more than one faction, dailies are the only way to go.
Which is why I’m complaining and getting worked up over it. They aren’t something I can report and ignore, hoping it gets fixed sometime. And for most of the bugged quests, they were bugged in beta and never got fixed. So maybe if we keep bitching loud and long, SOMEONE will finally listen and fix the friggin things.
If it were something non-championable, I’d agree with you. I’m not terribly sure how hard Ebon Hold rep is to grind, but I know the only thing I’ve eyeballed from them that I’d want is the head enchant. I’m more concerned about my Sons of Hodir rep for my shoulder enchants (which seems just fine, daily-wise). Everything else I plan on walking into Naxxramas with is from a Heroic, a questline, or is crafted.
*shrug* Differing opinions and outlooks, I guess. There’s already enough stuff in WoW that I can’t change that frustrates me to let something like one bugged daily get under my skin.
If I only needed 1 type of rep, sure. But I need several. First had to champion Kirin Tor for discount on ammo (I go through tons and can’t afford to buy the mammoth yet) and JC design for our casters. Need Wyrmrest again for JC design. Need Hodir for shoulder ench. Need Ebon Blade for helm ench. Argent Crusade for cloak and JC design. So you see, championing will only go so far so fast.
All of which really is beside the point. There are so many painfully stupid quests in the game that are irritating to do. Stuff we can’t avoid. And as I pointed out earlier, this particular quest has been broken since beta. I hardly think its an outrageous thing for me to expect them to fix broken quests that were reported long ago.
